The library collection is arranged according to the Library of Congress Classification Scheme. The class numbers are usually found on the spine of every library items. The numbers consists of letters and digits denoting its arrangement on the shelves according to its subject category. The class numbers are arranged alphabetically and numerically.

For example a book titled 'Managing for innovation : leading technical people' at class number HD 62.37 HUM.

HD          Classification

HUM      First three letters of the author's surname or the title

Therefore it is very important for any library users to consult the library computer system (OPAC) available at the library in order to obtain the class number for any required item.
